John Fitzpatrick recently visited one of the projects that the Eithne & Paddy Fitzpatrick Memorial Fund has been proud to support, the Wicklow Hospice Foundation. Entering the final phases of construction, the Wicklow Hospice will be a 15-room hospice in-patient unit at Magheramore in Wicklow as well as a hub for in-home palliative care services throughout the county.
The hospice will enable people with life-limiting illnesses to be discharged from hospital settings to receive great care, comfort, and a measure of dignity at their preferred place of care – their home or in hospice. The Fitzpatrick Fund is sponsoring a day room for patients and their families within the facility, where people with limited access to outdoor settings will be able to enjoy natural light and the warmth of the sun.
